AHS72IAF is launching "BALIKBAYAN BOX PROJECT". "Balikbayan" is a Filipino word that means "returning to one's country" or "returning to the Philippines." Most Filipinos returning back home to the Philippines usually brought with them cardboard boxes containing miscellaneous goods as gifts to their love ones. Thus, the term "Balikbayan Box." It is aimed at
providing an assortment of essential goods to students of Araullo High School , such as school supplies, new or used backpacks, school bags, books, computers and even reading glasses for children.
Those who are interested to give to our "BalikBayan Box Project" could send their donation to either:
1) c/o Agnes Maufit: 728 Foxglove St., Encinitas, CA 92024 Tel: 760-277-4001
2) c/o Edgar Celeste: 2615 Sleepy Hollow Ave., Hayward, CA 94545 Tel: 510-732-0506
Ms. Divina Manfoste Santos, an alumnus of AHS 1972, shipped a balikbayan box direct from her adapted country, Norway in Europe.
"BALIKBAYAN BOX PROJECT" will be a yearly project and will be a part of the Calendar of Events of AHS72IAF.
